Aging of Population in China

　　many countries will experience aging populations in the next century because of declining birth and mortality rates. china will soon join their ranks. according to statistics, the aging of chinas population will approach its peak by the middle of the next century,with the percentage of the people aged beyond 60 making up 27.4 percent of the total. that means one out of every four people will be elderly.

　　as for the issue of aging, its situation has been growing increasingly severe in spite of the fact most people are still ignorant of the problems it brings about. firstly, with families becoming smaller and living , it is even graver for families to care for aged members adequately. secondly, aging causes a relative decline in working force in that fewer people have to support the increasing aged people. consequently, the productivity of the whole society is affected to some extent. thirdly and most importantly,the aging of population in china resulted from the successful implementation of family planning has not been synchronized with national economic progress.

　　the rapidity of the populations aging has made it more urgent for the adoption of countermeasures. no doubt they key is to build a solid economic foundation. meanwhile, importance shall be attached to overall changing the backward situation in social security,welfare and service.

　　whats more, family care and community services shall also be encouraged.

growing human population

　　 currently, there is a widespread concern about the previously neglected connection between growing human population and decreasing wild species. as the two graphs obviously portrayed, american population in 1980 was 250 times than that in 1800, a trend accompanied by the extinction of nearly 70 kinds of wildlife in the past 300 years. a clear correlation is suggested that mankind has exerted a tremendously negative influence on natural species.

　　 there are many factors responsible for the aforementioned tendency. first and foremost, to satisfy the space demand for the booming population, the only available solution for americans is to take occupation of forests and grassland. that used to be habitat of wild animals and plants. furthermore, the process of industrialization and urbanization has generated severe pollution that essentially destroys environment and ecosystem.

　　 in my point of view, the dearth of wildlife today forecasts an unpromising future for humans tomorrow. in order to eliminate species extinction, relevant laws and regulations must be established and enforced to maintain a large portion of unspoiled areas. effective measures should also be applied to ensure that the impact of pollution be removed.　　

My idea of Family Planning

　　family planning is the most effective way to solve the population problem, the seriousness of which we often underestimate.

　　quite obviously family planning has so far macle little progress. at a time when half of the world is suffering from starvation, poor health and a badly iow standard of living, we simply cannot take lightly the population problem. if we dont control the birth rate right now well surely lead a miserable life in the near future.llliteracy is perhaps the main enemy of family planning.countries, which share the highest birth rate such as brazil and india, are also those which share the highest illiteracy rate. people there dont even know what birth control is.

　　to me, the ignorance of family planning is a social problem. so we had better begin with social reforms through,say, legislation, etc. of course, we cannot deny the necessity of the medical approach and we should use it in conjunction with other methods. the answer to the question whether man can survive one of the crises of the 21st century, namely population, is in our hands.
